
Philip Chen

Dr. Philip Kuo-Ting Chen is currently the Professor in Surgery in Taipei Medical University, Taipei, Taiwan, and the Director of the Craniofacial Center at the Taipei Medical University Hospital and has been the Director of Craniofacial Center of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for more than 15 years.
Dr. Chen graduated from the National Taiwan University Medical School in 1981 and received his plastic surgical training at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital from 1984 to 1987. He was a clinical fellow of Craniofacial Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children and University of Toronto in Canada, from 1990 to 1991.
Dr. Chen was the President of the Asian Pacific Craniofacial Association from 2006 to 2008 and the President of Taiwan Cleft Palate –Craniofacial Association from 2001 to 2007. He also served as the National Secretary of Taiwan in International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery from 2006 to 2014. He was the board member for Taiwan in AOCMF, Asian Pacific region from 2011 to 2017. He was among the International Medical Advisory Board of The Smile Train from 2007 to 2019. He is the council member of the Taiwan Cleft Palate –Craniofacial Association.
Dr. Chen received the Best paper award for the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery in 1994 and 2001 and a Best paper award from the Journal of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in 2015. He has given more than 350 international presentations. He has published more than 170 SCI articles, 29 of them were in the Journal of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and 25 chapters in textbook of cleft surgery or craniofacial surgery.
