
Anne Marie Kuijpers-Jagtman

Anne Marie Kuijpers-Jagtman is professor emeritus of orthodontics and works as a senior scientist and educator at the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands. She serves as Adjunct Professor at the University of Bern (Switzerland) and Universitas Indonesia in Jakarta (Indonesia).
From 1995 to September 2014 she was Chairperson of the Department of Orthodontics and Craniofacial Biology at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen (the Netherlands). For 33 years, she has been the Head of the Cleft Palate Craniofacial Unit of the Radboud University Hospital. From 2014 to 2018 she had been appointed in the position of Scientific Integrity Officer of the Radboud University.
She is a Past-President of the European Orthodontic Society and of the Dutch Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association. She holds honorary membership of the Word Federation of Orthodontists and of 5 other orthodontic associations around the world.
Professor Kuijpers-Jagtman received a number of prestigious international awards including the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award for Orthodontic Research of the AAO, the 2020 David L. Turpin Award for Evidence Based Research of the AJODO, the 2019 Louise Ada Jarabak Memorial International Orthodontic Teachers and Research Award of the AAO Foundation, and the 2018 Paul Goldhaber Award of Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. Her research group received two times Samuel Berkowitz Long-Term Outcomes Study Award of the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association for the best long-term outcomes study published in the Cleft Palate Craniofacial Journal.
She has undertaken extensive translational and clinical research during the past 35 years in the field of cleft lip and palate. In recent years, her major interests have been in 3D-imaging, evidence-based treatment, and clinical guideline development.
She (co)authored over 400 publications, supervised 59 PhD theses, and has given numerous lectures in 40 countries around the globe.
