Prof. Dr. Akhter Husain is the Dean of Yenepoya Dental College, Mangalore. He is also the Administrative Director, Centre for Craniofacial Anomalies and  is a  Diplomat from Indian Board of Orthodontics, Past President of Indian Orthodontic Society and President of Institution Innovation Council of the Yenepoya University.

He has to his credit over 75 research publications, 84 Scientific presentations in various National and International journals. And holds 7 patents in the field of Orthodontics.

He has been conferred with “IOS Research Award for the year 2015-2016” and “Best Proactive (Sr.) Academician for the Year 2014-2015” .

He has been also awarded the “Life Time Achievement Award – 2019” by Bapuji Dental College & Hospital, Davangere, for his outstanding contributions to the field of Dentistry and his exceptional service, passion & Leadership in the field of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics and he is the Alumni of the Institution.
